19th sep - 25th sep
this week i started working on the project

my plan was to rent a 360° camera from the wdka rental and take photos to upload on 'google street view'

the renting process went well, although the time slots were limited, so i only had the weekend to take the necessary photos

first, i tested out the camera
if you're viewing this site and wish to see these photos the way they're supposed to be seen (not the panoramic view like here), save them and visit 'renderstuff.com'

due to my busy schedule, i only got to take a few photos

in a sense, i feel that i failed because i later found out that one can only upload videos, not photos, on 'google street view', and that was after my rental ended

nevertheless, here they are:
since i couldn't upload these photos on 'google street view', i might as well give you the locations here

this is my room at polanenstraat 19A 02

with this picture i wanted to show that the identity (or a part of it) can be discovered not from their face or name, but items and surroundings

this photo was made with no subtlety in mind, but it puts one in the mindset of an investigator - what do you see when you can't see the face? (in this case - a batman fan)
trashbunker, willem de kooning academy

in this image, i mimicked the 'anonymization by black circle' method, as i like to call it

once again, focus on the outer details - what does the location tell about me? can you tell i'm an art school student?

here i made an exaggeration of the type of photos where one's identity is almost completely masked, except whatever kind of ai 'google' uses to anonymize people, it sometimes forgets the feet

this is just a picture of a church that i live near by

here i simply mimic the most natural way one can mask themselves - by hand over face - and i thought that it had an interesting connection with church, god, shame, hiding...
